Unbounce Review 2023 | Quite possibly the best landing page builder around

Ahhh landing pages! The bane of a marketers existence! It’s not lost on me that the founders of Unbounce started their platform to help alleviate the pain associated with having to wait on the dev team to help you code every single landing page when you wanted to launch a campaign.

Magnify this by 10 if you’re a small business that simply wants to get targeted offers in front of your clients or customers and you have a pain point that’s just waiting to be solved.

So, when Rick Perreault decided to start Unbounce he did so with a theory that there must be a better ay to help markets and entrepreneurs launch and scale without having to jump through many roadblocks.

Want to make high converting landing pages with ease and start reaping the rewards of your marketing efforts? Then, Unbounce just might be for you.

I tried and tested Unbounce to see exactly what it could and couldn’t do for marketers and businesses and was super impressed with the results.

What is Unbounce?

Unbounce is a platform that allows businesses to create and publish landing pages, pop-ups, and sticky bars for their websites without the need for technical expertise or coding skills. It’s designed to help businesses increase their conversion rates by creating targeted, high-converting landing pages that are fully responsive and optimised.

If that wasn’t all, Unbounce also helps you to write the copy for you with their powerful AI copy writer, and optimise your traffic by routing your visitors to the best possible landing page to suit their specific needs – helping you get up to 30% more conversions on your landing pages.

Why use a landing page builder like Unbounce?

Think about when you click a Facebook ad, or a sign up on a website for a lead magnet. When you get directed through to a page on a companies website that page is probably what we call a landing page.

Landing pages allow a customer or client to go … aha! I’m in the right place !

Landing pages act as a destination for a potential customer to be directed to that matches the intent of the hook.

For example, you might click an ad for a company that focusses in on gluten free chocolate cake mix… exactly what you were looking for! But, if you were then taken to the homepage for that company that talked about all sorts of baking products, you might find that jarring, or disjointed. Instead – if that company directed you to a dedicated landing page that matched your query, you’d think- aha ! this is what I was searching for!

This means two things:

1. Your customer has a great experience… and
2. They hopefully buy from you, or convert in some other way because the experience mated their intent.

By driving visitors to exact matches based on intent- they are much more likely to become customers and hopefully loyal fans of your product or service.

It’s a massive win, and is so worthwhile the time and effort it takes to create specific landing pages for particular product or campaigns.

My review of Unbounce

Drag and drop? You got it! So easy to use with the Unbounce Classic Editor... with no coding skills necessary. Plus, if you really want to utilise all that Unbounce has on offer you can try their Smart Builder, which incorporates powerful AI technology.

Their Smart Builder is extraordinary. Seriously. You simply pop in your project name. Add a few keywords that you feel relate well to your offering, then Smart Builder whips up both the layout and the accompanying copy for you.

Simply tap on a section to edit the copy, or add and replace imagery. Choose your CTA, and offering and voila! Done for you!

If you choose the do it yourself option, you can choose from dozens of responsive templates to get you started.

Drag and drop your text and imagery to wherever suits, and easily add your meta data with their easy to use builder.

I found it super easy to pick up, and the templates were super impressive. Loads to choose from and they all had multiple sections that were easily edited to match my offering.

You could easily create landing pages for product offerings, ebooks, course and ecommerce with multiple options.

The platform was super intuitive and had a pretty flat learning curve. A novice with little to no design or technical ability could easier create a landing page in mere minutes.

And, if all of this awesome wasn’t enough to convince you to try Unbounce… they have a pretty cool set of company values, have a social impact team, are all about inclusivity (their leadership team is pretty well balanced) AND use dogs as their use cases on their website… nawww…any company that treats their staff right, and has a penchant for pups is pretty OK in my book.

Popups and Sticky Bars

I think one of the coolest things about Unbounce is the ability to create both sticky bars and popups.

Again, super intuitive to use and the results were pretty spectacular.

The preview on my website feature was pretty cool too.

Again, a tonne of great templates to choose from and an easy to use interface.

Sticky bars and popups serve to grab a visitors attention, and capture leads either upon exit or after a certain period of time on a page. Super useful to capture leads from your hard earned traffic.

Unbounce lets you choose who sees what, and when with both popups and sticky bars. Super specific targeting and a way to help you optimise your conversions.

Pretty impressed with how Unbounce handles sticky bars and popups. They make it really easy to both design and implement both, and the results are pretty impressive.

One of the most impressive things about Unbounce popups is how you can totally personalise your offering to match search intent.

Say a visitors comes to your landing page via the search ….. “Summer dresses for petite women”… the pop up can then target that particular visitor with copy that says “Get 10% off Summer dresses for petite women today!” … amazing personalisation and a superb way to increase conversion rates.

Unbounce Smart Copy

In case landing pages and sticky bars wasn’t enough. Unbounce also gives you the option to write all your copy for you! Their Smart Copy option writes ads, product descriptions, tag-lines and more. Uh! so good right! Theres a whole lotta buzz around right now with ChatGPT making headlines and loads of amazing new AI writing tools around. Unbounce offers a similar experience.

And… its really good!

They offer a totally free plan which lets you create copy for a variety of campaigns and marketing channels.

It’s fast, and seriously impressive.

Their free plan has some limitations, but the next tier up starts from just $9 a month (limited offer) and it stacks up against other AI writers I’ve tried.

Give it a whirl!

Unbounce Pricing

Pretty reasonable I have to say. Especially if you’re using a contractor or freelancer to jump in and help you out with coding up your specialty pages. (not to mention the time lag for getting campaigns out!)

To get professional, beautiful landing pages fast, the pricing plans make sense.

Free 14 day trial, which you can cancel at any time without being charged – then plans start a $81 a month if you choose annual billing option. The launch plan is plenty big enough for most small businesses to get started – with 500 conversions and up to 20,000 visitors.

Because I’m an official Unbounce partner, you can get 20% off your first 3 mths (or 20% of an annual membership) using my exclusive link here.

My overall take?

Give Unbounce a try. It’s a seriously cool platform that can help you overcome those landing page speed bumps.

Trust me when I say that your visotrs will love you for giving them a user journey that makes sense.

Creating landing pages that match your visitors search intent makes so much sense and will help you to improve your ROI fast.

If you’re am marketer, an entrepreneur, startup, SaaS business or eCommerce co Unbounce is well worth the monthly outlay. The platform is super easy to use and makes launching and promoting your products and campaigns a cinch.

In case you needed any more convincing… did you know that Unbounce landing pages get an average of 840K conversions EVERY DAY! Thats massive!!

So, do yourself a favour and give Unbounce a try.
